guilty!

These girls love them some wipes!  It's a battle for us to keep the wipes IN the container so usually the container goes on the couch when not in use.  But sometimes we forget.

Busted!

a simple prayer....answered

Tonight had a moment of crisis.  =)

You see those beautiful girls to the left?  You see those pretty little shiny's in their ears?  Well, we somehow lost one tonight.  How?  HOW????  Have you ever tried to take off newly pierced earrings?  They're a beast to get off, for good reason.  So HOW?!  Here's what happened:

I went to clean Ashley's ears tonight and one ear was just...empty.  I had just changed her clothes so I was hoping and praying that it would be lost somewhere in her clothes (I even checked the, um, diaper...shhh!).  No luck.

Ya know that sick gut feeling you get when you lose something important?  That's totally how I felt.  I was just running through my head what to do...were we going to have to re-pierce that ear?  Poor, poor baby.

After searching the couch numerous times, the floor a million times, the little vac once, their crib three times, my clothes, Ashley's clothes, their walkers...EVERYTHING...we finally decided to just put one of the big girls' earrings in (from when they got their ears pierced).  Here's the problem though--in our brilliance, Ashley's earrings are pink...the rest of the girls have white...so of COURSE we lose a pink earring! =)  So we tried to take out her other pink earring too and replace it with a white one...only we couldn't get the back off...go FIGURE!  =)

We put them to bed and I just felt sick still.  As I was walking down the stairs, I said to Jason, "Puh-lease, just let it be there in the middle of the floor!"

So I walked downstairs and totally looked in the middle of the floor.  It wasn't there.  Then I just scanned the floor...and THERE THAT LITTLE BOOGER WAS!  Right by the TV.  I think it must have flown off when I changed her shirt.

I just felt so relieved.  And so thankful.  God choose to answer that small little prayer of mine...such a little thing, but so big at the same time!

For tonight, I'm just thankful for my little answered prayer.  Thank you God!

ash & ains get their ears pierced...

We finally got the twins their ears pierced today!  We've been meaning to do it for months now!  And we finally did it!  We thought it would be a great Happy Birthday present!  And now, people will be able to tell them apart!  Ashley got pretty pink earrings and Ainsley got pretty white earrings!  So pretty!

These pictures are tiny because they were taken with Jason's phone...we forgot the camera of course!

Ashley right after the first side...apparently for legal reasons they can't have two people doing it on babies...yeah, didn't know THAT.  *sigh*  So they had to suffer twice.  Ashley had the saddest little heaves.  =(
Ainsley right before...she has NO idea.  None.
She has an idea now.  =(  Poor babies!
They got over it pretty quick...regardless of how the pictures look!  Little love muffins!

happy 1st birthday ashley and ainsley!

Ashley & Ainsley in their pretty pink tutus and flower onesies!
Pretty pink roses!
Lots of pink and roses!
Pink punch!
Julia in her pretty pink too and some Dorito-ness on her face!
Dada with one of the birthday girls!
The babies with some of their gifts!  Notice the wet ground...the sprinklers came on about five times during the party!  Nice!
Pretty girl with cupcake face!
Ashley enjoying her first bite of cake...ever!  In fact, it was their first taste of sugar!
Ainsley's first taste of sugary goodness!
Mama and Julia!
We had such a special time celebrating the twins 1st birthday!  We had a pretty pink party at the park right across the street from our house!  It was a beautiful day!

I can't believe it's been a whole year.  I keep thinking this week about how a year ago little sweet Ainsley was in the NICU...and what a hard time that was for us.  And look how far we've come now!

Ashley consistently does things before Ainsley.  Right now they are both sitting up on their own.  Ashley can sit herself up, Ainsley needs help!  They both have four teeth (two upper front teeth and two bottom front teeth).  They both just discovered clapping...and how fun that is!  They are repeating sounds and words!  They love, love, LOVE it when their big sisters play with them!  They are both such sweet girls, with mild dispositions.  They still sleep in the same crib together--it's adorable!

Happy birthday sweet girls!  I can't wait to see what this next year brings!

the big 6!

We're the big 6 today! 6 months baby! Half way to The Big 1!

What cool stuff are we into right now? Oh, not much. We still fill our days with sleeping, drinking milk and pooping. I (Ashley) like to roll over ALL the time. I mean, come on, who doesn't like a little tummy time?! And I (Ainsley) really like my thumb. TA-STY! Mom and Dad seem to think it's cool to yank my thumb OUT OF MY MOUTH, but I always manage to slip it back in when they're not looking! I'm tricky like that!

Other than that, well, we pretty much just try to survive our big sisters, Katey and Julia. They really love us. Sometimes they love us a little too much with their hugs and stuff. They don't know that they're bigger than us and, well, can smush us when they lay on us. But they're learning. Or at least Mama and Dada HOPE they're learning! We sure do love those big girls though. We can't wait till we can run around with them all crazy-like.

Here we are today with Mama. We love her!

And here we are on our pretty blanket. We lay on blankets a lot.

You're welcome! I knew you'd want to see one of my (Ainsley) funny faces!

Look how long and skinny we are! Mama wishes SHE was long and skinny like us! Well maybe a little bigger since we only weigh about 14 pounds. That would be weird.

We just ate here. We get this drunk on milk look after we eat. It's pretty cute if we don't say so ourselves.

That's about it for now. By The Big 1 we should be doing a lot more. We'll let ya know!

happy 4 months!

The twins are four months today! Such big girls! Ashley weighs 12 lbs. 0.5 oz and Ainsley weighs 11 lbs. 13.5 oz. They're pretty cute! And pretty great babies! They really only cry when they're hungry. And they sleep through the night really well. Plus, they're both rolling over on their own! By themselves!

Pretty girls!

Sisters!

Big kisses!

Happy 4 months Ashley and Ainsley!

happy 2 month-iversary!

Happy 2 months Ashley and Ainsley!
Current weights:
Ashley: 8 lbs, 12 1/2 oz
Ainsley: 8 lbs, 3 1/2 oz

The twins don't do much. They eat, sleep, cry and poop. The other day Ainsley rolled over pretty much by herself. She was on the edge of a rug so there was about a half inch help, but still! I'm proud!

Ainsley is gaining weight slower than Ashley. See?

Ainsley is more active than Ashley too. See?

Aren't they cute?

And Ashley is the "normal" one according to these pictures!

What a joy these two have been to our lives! We're so thankful to God for them!
