the not so perfect perfect job
We've been in a whirlwind the last, oh...8 months or so. On December 29th, 2009, Jason was laid off from his job. We saw this as more of a blessing than anything else because I was at the point in my pregnancy with the twins where there were a LOT of doctor's appointments! Like, twice a week! It was nice to have him home so he could just watch the big girls.
Then once the babies came it was even NICER to have him at home. I really don't know how I would've done it without him there.
Fast forward to today, 8 months later, and Jason is still looking for work. He interviewed for a job last week, three interviews to be exact, and this was a job that we REALLY WANTED. Bad. It was the "perfect" job.
Or so we thought.
Apparently it wasn't so perfect though.
Why? Well, we found out today that he didn't get it. So amidst the disappointment we're struggling to remember.
Remember truth.
God is the One completely in control of what happens in our lives. He's the One that allows blessing and hardship. And right now, He's chosen to not allow this seeming blessing.
So while we REALLY wanted this job, I guess in actuality we really DIDN'T want this one. We only want what God wants for us and He didn't want this. At least that's the truth we're attempting to remember.
There must be something better for us. Maybe it's what we're going to learn with less. Maybe it's the blessing of the extra time we get with Jason. Maybe we're just supposed to learn to trust God more in the midst of not knowing.
For right now we'll just be thankful that we didn't get the not so perfect "perfect" job.

happy 7th anniversary!
So we got to go out for our anniversary...alone! It was fantastic!
So what did we do on our little date? We went to a movie...we saw Knight and Day. Then we went out to dinner at Stripburger. It was really tasty! And really nice just being the two of us!
This past seven years has gone really quickly. We've been and done so much.
3 states
5 countries
5 cars
8 homes (I know. )
1 pet
4 kids (again, I know!)
God has been so good to us and we've seen Him provide for us in so many ways! We're looking forward to seeing how He's going to provide for us this next year.

my big helper!
I have a big helper! In fact, I couldn't even begin to do this without him.
Wait. Him?
Yup. Him.
Jason is completely amazing. He's a fantastic father and an incredible husband! And I'm immensely blessed!
Here he is helping out! And believe me, just an extra set of arms is the biggest help!

Thanks Babe! Love you tons!

a new beginning
On December 29th, Jason got laid off again. On the outside it might seem like a terrible time for him to get laid off, what with the babies due in two months and all. But actually it's been a huge blessing!
Having him home is SO nice. SO nice! The last couple of weeks we've been trying to decide what to do. This puts moving on hold a little bit...we can't very well rent somewhere else with no income. Since we DON'T have a mortgage right now, we can totally survive on unemployment. Because of this, we've decided to make a go at starting our own business...kinda. It's something we've been wanting to do for a while, so we're gonna give it a shot, at least until after the twins are born. Then, we'll see what happens!
God has been so incredibly faithful to us...we're excited to see what He does in coming months!
