a taste of normal...or something like that!

We're starting to get our new "normal" down. We've started to calm down a bit. See?

Ha! Just joking!

No, really. We're getting into a bit of a routine...and it's an amazing feeling. Jason and I have become semi-pros at how to calm the babies. Me? I have it easy. I just give them some milk! Super easy! Jason, on the other hand, has it a little harder, not being equipped with any feeding mechanisms! Instead, he's learned the ways they like to be held, how they like to take their paci's, that when you pick up one twin, the other one will probably start crying (they must be jealous or something), etc.

And I've learned that pumping can be a mom's best friend! Why, you ask? A mere 2-2 1/2 ounces right before bed (after their normal feeding) will put them out for an extra 2-3 hours! HALLELUJAH!! So now, instead of going to bed at 10:30 pm and waking up at 2 am, they're sleeping until 5 or 6!!!! Fantastic! Pump. A mom's BEST friend! And Dad's best friend too, now that I think about it!

Getting their sleeping under control has added so much more calm to our days. It's much, MUCH easier to be a cheerful mom when you've had a decent nights sleep. So I'm thankful!

We also started Katey's "school" again last week. We're going through the book "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" (thanks Becky!). So far, so good! The hardest part of Kate's school? Julia! Julia likes to be involved too, but as a 19-month-old, that's really not possible. So we try to find OTHER things for her to do! Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't.

Anyway, life is good. We have four completely amazing daughters. Life is crazy. Really crazy. There's a lot more crying, but hey, we have TWO two-month-olds in the house...crying is to be expected! And honestly, they're pretty great babies. We have nothing to complain about, only things to be thankful for!

I'm just thankful that we've kinda figured out our new "normal."
