four of a kind!

Katey and Julia really love the babies! So yesterday when Katey asked to hold them, I said, "okay! Sure!" Then of course, Julia wanted to hold them too. So I said, "ummm...okay...!"

This picture was at the end of the holding session and Ashley was pretty much done, though she's NOT being choked like the picture looks!

Our four of a kind girls:

Let's just say, everyone survived, with NO droppage!

big sisters!

Katey is so pretty! She's growing up fast!

Julia's growing up pretty fast too! Crazy girl!

funny faces!

These pictures make me smile. And the last one makes me laugh! Ashley's on the left and Ainsley's on the right:

Get ready to laugh....ready?

a taste of normal...or something like that!

We're starting to get our new "normal" down. We've started to calm down a bit. See?

Ha! Just joking!

No, really. We're getting into a bit of a routine...and it's an amazing feeling. Jason and I have become semi-pros at how to calm the babies. Me? I have it easy. I just give them some milk! Super easy! Jason, on the other hand, has it a little harder, not being equipped with any feeding mechanisms! Instead, he's learned the ways they like to be held, how they like to take their paci's, that when you pick up one twin, the other one will probably start crying (they must be jealous or something), etc.

And I've learned that pumping can be a mom's best friend! Why, you ask? A mere 2-2 1/2 ounces right before bed (after their normal feeding) will put them out for an extra 2-3 hours! HALLELUJAH!! So now, instead of going to bed at 10:30 pm and waking up at 2 am, they're sleeping until 5 or 6!!!! Fantastic! Pump. A mom's BEST friend! And Dad's best friend too, now that I think about it!

Getting their sleeping under control has added so much more calm to our days. It's much, MUCH easier to be a cheerful mom when you've had a decent nights sleep. So I'm thankful!

We also started Katey's "school" again last week. We're going through the book "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" (thanks Becky!). So far, so good! The hardest part of Kate's school? Julia! Julia likes to be involved too, but as a 19-month-old, that's really not possible. So we try to find OTHER things for her to do! Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't.

Anyway, life is good. We have four completely amazing daughters. Life is crazy. Really crazy. There's a lot more crying, but hey, we have TWO two-month-olds in the house...crying is to be expected! And honestly, they're pretty great babies. We have nothing to complain about, only things to be thankful for!

I'm just thankful that we've kinda figured out our new "normal."

when paramedics come to visit...

Last night was interesting.

The paramedics came for a short visit. Here's what happened...

Jason and I were in our bedroom changing the twins for bed. Then we heard a thump in the living room. A LOUD thump. And then screaming.

I ran to the living room and saw Juls laying on the floor by the couch. She was kind of rolled up in a ball, crying really hard. When I tried to get her to move, she just kept laying there. It really scared me. I rolled her over and held her and her little eyes rolled up in her head. That was enough for me. I yelled for Jason to call 911. I didn't know what was happening, but it sure was scary.

While Jason was talking to the operator, Julia snapped out of it a little bit and was able to walk around. The operator decided to send paramedics anyway, since there would be no charge and just to make sure she was okay.

So they came.

All 6 of them. Or something like that! Really? Six paramedics were really necessary? For one 19-month-old child?!

Oh well. I'm glad they came. They determined that our little munchkin was indeed okay and to call back if we noticed anything unusual.

I'm so thankful she is okay! And so thankful for the paramedics who came for such a short visit!

happy mama's day!

I had a great day today!

Jason and the girls really made it special for me! I feel so loved!

My homemade card with foam stickers and all (which, by the way, is WAY better than spending $3+ on a store bought one):

Me and my FOUR (yes, FOUR!) girls:

I got beautiful flowers (that Jason "helped" Katey pick out) and a totally cool cake decorating book! I can't wait to bake me some cake!

Me and my fantastic hubby, who I wouldn't be a mother without ;)! Thanks for such a great day, Jas!

happy 2 month-iversary!

Happy 2 months Ashley and Ainsley!
Current weights:
Ashley: 8 lbs, 12 1/2 oz
Ainsley: 8 lbs, 3 1/2 oz

The twins don't do much. They eat, sleep, cry and poop. The other day Ainsley rolled over pretty much by herself. She was on the edge of a rug so there was about a half inch help, but still! I'm proud!

Ainsley is gaining weight slower than Ashley. See?

Ainsley is more active than Ashley too. See?

Aren't they cute?

And Ashley is the "normal" one according to these pictures!

What a joy these two have been to our lives! We're so thankful to God for them!
